About Wendy
Wendy Goodwin has distinguished herself as a versatile and creative presence in the Pacific Northwest and beyond through unique violin and vocal stylings in Classical, Jazz and Americana. Known for a rich tone, impeccable pitch and inventive arranging and composing, Ms. Goodwin is an in demand collaborator for both live performances and recording projects.
In 2003, Wendy founded Effesenden Music, an event music company that is highly regarded in the wedding and event industry for its commitment to quality, creative music performed at the utmost level and customized to the client’s own musical tastes.
Since 2009, Ms. Goodwin has worked extensively with American/Irish duo Jeff Johnson and Brian Dunning on projects ranging from contemporary Celtic music to the Coram Deo Ensemble, an international mixed instrument chamber ensemble with Johnson, Dunning, soprano Janet Marie Chvetal and baritone Marc Gremm.
Ongoing creative endeavors for Wendy include the annual Acoustic Christmas concert series for which she serves as artistic director and violinist, classical chamber music with pianist Dr. Yoko Miyama and cellist Ashley Peck, and playing and singing jazz at clubs and cafes in the jazz loving city of Portland, Oregon.
Having been profoundly inspired by her time as a student of violinist Carol Sindell—herself a pupil of the great Jascha Heifetz, and chart topping jazz pianist Darrell Grant, Ms. Goodwin endeavors to help continue a legacy of empowering budding violinists to realize their creative and technical potential.
When not up to her eyeballs in music, Wendy enjoys roasting and drinking coffee, running, biking and soaking in the lush beauty of her native Pacific Northwest with family and friends.
